Services

We have all experienced pain and growth. I believe that the best, most impactful growth comes from understanding and working through pain.

Individual

Are you tired of feeling stressed out, worried and unhappy? Do you know why you’re unhappy? Are you ready to change but you don’t know what or how? I will work with you to set goals to move your life closer to the life you most want to live. Life will never be stress free but you can find peace, balance and even joy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

The core principle of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is that our behaviors, feelings and thoughts (or cognitions) directly impact each other and if we interrupt one, positivitly or negatively, we will impact all three. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" method and I will work to provide with strategies that have been tested and proven effective.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

I am certified in EMDR and use it regularly with clients. What is it?! In a nutshell, when your brain gets overwhelmed it saves information in a very different way. For some people with a history of anxiety, trauma and/or depression, EMDR has been shown to help their brains re-save that information in a way that is not as stressful.

Couples Work

Research shows, that up to 66% of conflict in a happy, long term relationship may not ever be resolved. I can’t show you how to never fight again but I can give you strategies for working together and communicating more effectively so that you can get back to having fun with each other again. As a Gottman Level III trained clinician, I employ a great deal of Gottman interventions and research to support couples while they grow.

Family Work

Research has proven that how we get started in life, impacts us as adults. Our childhood creates the lense through which we see the world, making family communication pivotal to our growth and health. It is important for us to explore our roles in our families both as children and later as adults. I offer families the opportunity to constructively explore ways to improve communication, heal and support one another.

Post Graduate Clinicians

As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor (LMFT-S), I have the pleasure of supporting post graduate clinicians as they explore their growth from student interns and associates into licensed professionals. In each counselor's journey, they will notice that their own pain may be triggered and that can open doors and allow them to relate more effectively and sincerely to their clients. Contact me for more information.

About Me

As an active duty military family, we moved all over the country but I have found a home in Texas. I received my undergraduate degree at Texas State University and my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward's University. I have worked with diverse populations including varied ethnic and cultural groups, individuals involved in the criminal justice system and various sexual orientations. I began my career working in inpatient settings and have experience with working with teens, adults, individuals, groups and families.

As a child, my family impressed upon me the importance of giving back. Since then, it has been my life-long endeavor to help others. In college, I found that I was fascinated by how people work, hurt and help themselves. I truly enjoy the opportunity to support others while they work to find a balance in their lives.
